Bon Appétit addresses the idea that it is possible for parts
of outside cultures to be integrated into another culture. International foods
are an aspect of outside cutlures that American society has fully allowed into
our cuisine. The interesting aspect of exploring multiculturalism in this
manner is why various types of food are accepted in the US. Why is it that a
taco bell, clearly a rendition of Hispanic food, next to a KFC, an emblem of
the American life? Why are Hindu restaurants just as popular as Pakistani
restaurants? The fact of the matter is
that these places still coexist within American society—they embody
multiculturalism in its finest form.
