Transience

Transience is critiquing a greater narrative, while also celebrating transient, short-term communities that form in airports.  My piece addresses concepts of multiculturalism because it is countering the narratives that keep it hidden, or un-discussed.  Traveling through an airport is not a glamorous experience, but it does bring people together in ways we could not hope for outside of air travel.  We create communities constantly, and create new ones the next place we stop to eat or sit in airports.  I want to celebrate this – and argue that it shows hope for us, as a society, to grow together and not further apart.
