Rain

sound only

Some view multiculturalism as contrasting assimilation and prefer to be described as a “salad bowl” instead of a “melting pot”.  I used the diversity aspect as rain sounds pile onto of one another. My piece is representative of a day of travel. A male walks into a city and plane sounds are heard to represent travel.  After this, farm sounds are heard to represent a new community. The rain in my piece represents life, as we cannot survive without rain. The next section of rain represents the harmony of different cultures coming together. They sound separate but harmonious (just as cultures should be).
